Monitor mod - part three

Progress...

This is the completed monitor frame and circular trim in etch primer. I decided to paint the copper pipe black with the monitor frame, just too much copper otherwise.

I also found the housing for the monitor controls. This is a cut down and polished spray pump. With an elbow from one end, it will connect to the monitor. I hope to desolder and extend with wire the rotary knob to the outside tapered end of the housing.

Next step is to:
  • paint the back of the monitor (brass and black)
  • mount fixings for the control cylinder
  • find two small speakers to fit in the brass bells and mount the speakers
  • fabricate the four copper pipe joiners to attach the circular ring to the monitor frame
  • fabricate the copper pipe to join the control cylinder to the monitor
  • make up a new monitor signal lead
  • attach a monitor support device to the back of the monitor

Not sure if I will get all this done this year, but then - what's the hurry? If I finish it too soon then I will need another project.

The first picture looks like the monitor is on a sprue tree...
